Insights from Q1 Productions Diagnostic and Reimbursement Conference

Last week at Q1 Productions Dx Coverage & Reimbursement Conference, careviso had the opportunity to lead a discussion on the future of healthcare. Andrew Mignatti, CEO & Co-Founder of careviso, led the talk on “The Future of Front-End Claims Processing: Test Ordering and Prior Authorization.”

Andrew Mignatti – CEO & Co-Founder, careviso

Andrew Mignatti’s presentation set the tone for a more efficient and healthcare service provider-centric healthcare future. He described the current complexities of front-end claims processing during the panel discussion and asked each panelist their insight into each step of the process.

Expert Panelists: A Summary of Their Insights
Christopher Ho, Myriad Genetics, SVP – Customer Operations Group

Christopher Ho’s insights emphasized the intricacies between customer operations and front-end claims processing challenges. He shed light on the investment that laboratories must put forth to achieve the workflow laid out by health plans for compliant claims processing.

Gregory A. Stein, Shadowbox, CEO & Founder

Gregory Stein’s entrepreneurial and regulatory experience added another perspective, emphasizing adaptability and innovation. Greg spoke about the lack of interoperability that leads to delays in prior authorization submission, ultimately impacting patient care.

Stephanie Gandomi, GeneDX, Director, Market Access, Board-Certified Genetic Counselor

Stephanie Gandomi further touched on how extreme variability exists today in requirements across health plans for prior authorization submissions. This can then lead to a claim denial, even in the event where the prior authorization was approved initially.
